Crystal Crown Arch

Located at the entrance of Istana Bukit Serene, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s official residence; The structure was built to commemorate his coronation on 23 March 2015. It features a replica of his crown fitted with 3,063 crystal stones on top of arches resembling elephant tusks to symbolise the animal used in royal processions and war. 

Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru

Tick-Tock! A clock tower built soon after Johor Bahru was declared a city back in 1 January 1994! It is often used for official events and sporting competitions. The tower lights up at night, casting a beautiful and peaceful glow over its surroundings. 

Legoland

The first in Asia, 6th in the world, and the first international theme park in Malaysia! Built in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, it officially opened on 15 September 2012, with Sultan Ibrahim Ismail attending the ceremony. The theme park is loved by kids and adults alike, boasting over 80 rides, live shows and attractions.

Desaru Ostrich Farm

Another highlight loved by families! Visitors can get up close and personal to learn all about the animal with over 100 ostriches on the farm. One can also stop by Desaru Fruit Farm that’s located nearby.

Kota Tinggi Firefly Park

One can admire fireflies in all their glory at the Firefly Valley Leisure Park. Step into a magical world as you float through the mangrove thicket on a boat at night and bask in the flickering lights cast by fireflies.

Natural Attractions

Perfect for a splashing time! Pulai Waterfall and Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest are two famous leisure spots in Johor Bahru. They attract both tourists and locals, with many families visiting to enjoy its sweeping views and natural beauty.

Mee Rebus (粿条仔)

A popular noodle soup dish originating from Indonesia, famous among maritime Southeast Asia. It features thick and aromatic gravy served over yellow noodles, bean sprouts, tofu and hard-boiled eggs. Garnished with fresh lime, spring onions and fried shallots, it is typically enjoyed during festivities, gatherings or as street food.

Kuda Kepang

An artistic dance originating from Indonesia. It is often performed during special events or as entertainment. Dancers will ‘ride’ horses made from woven bamboo, beautifully decorated with colourful paint and cloth, as they dance to music played with gong, gendang, and kenong.
